Ways  to  Serve

Student Ministry Midweek Program - Small Group Leader

Your main role will be to guide our students in conversation within our small groups following the message. Getting to know the students in your group and engaging them to open up and share is the main goal of this position.  And while we will allow a lot of ideas to be shared and to fly about the conversation, we must only allow truth to land.
SERVING WITH
Student Ministry
DETAILS
We will break into small groups at the end of service for 10-45 minutes, all depending on the night and length of the message. There will be small group questions for you to use and springboard into other questions you may desire to ask as well. The groups are separated by male/female and junior high/senior high. So you may be leading senior high guys or junior high girls, for example (female leaders with female students and male leaders with male students).
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
You will not be required to "teach," but rather to facilitate conversation. You should be willing and prepared to share your own experiences and thoughts, especially to kickoff the discussions. You need to be sensitive concerning the details you share with our students. We do not want to encourage them to engage in any of our past sins, yet we want to be honest and authentic in our testimonies. Keeping the conversation on topic will be challenging at times, and it will be frustrating when some of the students choose not to fully engage. You need to be aware of this and not take it personal. Have fun, be honest and real.
